My son was diagnosed just after Thanksgiving. He was 10 months old.

His curve is a mild 21 but I still fear as if it were 100. ANY parent

who has gone through a tramatic event, like her birth, would feel the

same as you do. Just understand two things... what you feel is

completely normal and understandable, even if those closest to you

dont understand it. And you ARE NOT ALONE!! This group has taught me

that above all else. Each child has a different symptom, different

reason for their scoliosis, but we are all in this together. We

support each other above all else. That you CAN count on! It doesnt

matter how severe or mild, or even the cause of the scoliosis, the

fear and pain a parent feels is very real and very deep. The best

thing I can say to you is to research. Find out all you can about the

disorder. There are a number of links on here to help you out. You

undoubtedly have hundreds of questions, like the rest of us did, and

still do to some extent. Ask away. We are all her for you. Whatever

you need. Just ask.

As far as the scoliosis goes... please research as much as you can

(which Im sure you are already doing) the more information you have

the better prepared you will feel. Especially when it comes to the

visit with the ortho. If you arent sure what to ask or say at your

visit, we can help with that too. I dont want to give you too much to

deal with at once... just know that we are here for you... day or

nite... we have 24 hour shifts :) Just ask Amber! ;) LOL

Thank you very much. I have found that the more info I have, the better I feel about things. I'm sure I will have questions.

Do you know anything about left vs right curve. I've read that infantile idiopathic (apparently most likely to resolve) is usually to the left. My baby has a right curve - does that indicate anything you are aware of?

I'm sorry if I'm being naive in parroting the literature out there, but that's all I know at this point. I know the group has lived this stuff.
