Guest guest
Hi Lori, is 6 months old. We found out at 8 weeks that he had scoliosis, at that time he was 32 degrees. He progressed to 50 and that was our last x-ray 2 months ago. I am just curious as to why you have to wait until March to find out if Isabella's Scoliosis is Congenital or Infantile? That was the first thing that we found out. Have they done an MRI yet?? Tell me again what degree her curve is at? and how old is she? I know I am asking lots of questions, sorry....what state do you live in? Crista P.S. you should post your daughters picture. Do you call her Bella? I love that name. I don't think I have ever posted so many questions. LOL
Guest guest
Hi Lori, That makes me so mad!!! also had Torticollis and I did a little PT with himfor that , it is gone now. I don't mean to sound pushy but DUMP your Dr.! is also 6 months old. He had his first x-ray at 8 weeks old to find out the curvature. His MRI was 2 weeks later to rule out Congenital. All you need is an MRI to rule that out. We have had 3 x-rays already and our next one is next Wed. and they said also another MRI. We were at Childrens Hospital of Orange County first, then Childrens in San Diego. We are finally going to Shriners in SLC next week and they are casting him next Wednesday. Don't get me wrong I am terrified of the cast but only because we have never had one. (I don't handle change very well.) I am sure that you probably have read some of my posts about . He had a curve 2 months ago of 50 degrees he also had a RVA of 50. That is important to know so ask your Dr. what Isabella's RVA is. What makes them think she could have Congenital? Children is Chicago is supposed to be good but I can't believe that she hasn't had an MRI!!!!! Childrens in San Diego is also supposed to be good but they wanted to cast him and also put his leg and arm in the cast too! I told them no way!! Lori, you need to do what YOU think is right for your child so this is just me talking as if this was my child. I wouldn't wait until March for someone to x-ray her for the first time. Casting won't cure Congenital but I think some parents have put kids in casts to stop it from progressing. The same with braces. Just remember that had Tort. and it resolved itself and his Scoliosis progressed. I need to go, write back and fill me in some more!
Guest guest
Lori, I agree with you totally. I think that there may be some link. My Dr. thought it was a positional thing in the uteras that was also a thought about the Scoliosis. Who knows. Oh, I sent you an email.
