Guest guest
, That is GREAT if that is true!!!! had an RVAD of 50 and a cobb angle of 50, 2 months ago. I fear what they are now!!!! That Dr. sounds EXTREMELY arrogant!! Anything over 20 is almost always progressive and anything under 20 is usually benign. (USUALLY) I would bring his x-rays somewhere else and have the Dr. measure! All 3 Dr's that we saw new exaclty what an RVAD is!! (rib vetebral angle degree) If I were you I would report him to your Insurance Company. I have done that before, and it really gets a Dr.'s attention if they get into a problem with the Insurance Company. If they get enough complaints they are dropped! Guest guest
Okay... well.. the nurse called me back this morning. She said " I dont know why you needed his RVA, but since you made such a fuss its 7. And according Meeta... or Meter or whatever as long as its under 20 then hes fine. " She told me that as long as shes been doing this (apparently since the dawn of time) they have always used the Cobb angle and the scoliosis scale (which the apparently lay a level on thier backs when bending over) They didnt do a scoliosis scale on Nate. I dont see how that could be very accurate on a young child or anyone. Sounds SOOO scientific and all... a LEVEL!! Does that sound rediculous to any of you?? Maybe its just me. I understand its measuring the severity of the hump or shoulder blades, but .... a level??? Anyway, YEAH!!!! His RVA is just 7!!! ... So why am I still worried?? I think Im having so serious trust issues with this doc. I know they wouldnt just say it was 7 to get me off thier backs... but... okay so I dont know that they arent just saying that. I would hope not.. but... Okay... I have to go call Nates ped. doc to see if I can find another doctor to look at Nate. One that I can look in the face and trust that hes doing all he can for Nate and not just to shut me up. Talk to you all later!!
Guest guest
, Congratulations on Nates rva. I think that getting a second, or third opinion just to be sure is necessary. It just seems that they werent too informed at that docs office, so I agree with you 100%. Its better to be safe, than sorry. Anyway, that is great news..!! Now, lets see if they are measuring correctly! Please keep us posted talk soon,
Guest guest
Good idea Crista, I wonder how long it took for little Nates doc to go "look up," what an RVAD was? And then figure out how to measure one? (just jokin, or maybe not) h
