A Visit to Star Prairie Trout Farm

A fine Memorial Day event was held yesterday compliments of Trad Fooders Mac &

Marci

Graham on their gorgeous trout farm on the Apple River in Star Prairie, WI (see

new photo of

We feasted on all sorts of natural foods and listened to fine music. The weather

was great

since all that spring water, the nice breeze and the deep shade trees make for

perfect

weather for a true vacation spot. If you get too hot you can jump in the cool

fresh Apple

River!

If you haven't been there you must put this on your MUST DO list. They offer

trout fishing for

all members of the family (even a 3 year old can catch a nice trout!). All

equipment is

provided, just bring yourselves and a camera. They will clean, ice and bag your

catch or you

can buy fresh-caught trout. They also sell the finest smoked trout around.

I'll post a separate list of the important Farmer's Market and sustainable ag

farmers that had

food booths at the event. I learned quite a bit and met some beautiful new

venders as well.

Buy fresh and smoked Star Prairie Trout at all the coops or at Lakewinds. You

can also taste

their delicious fish every day at Lake Bowl or Cafe Barbette in Uptown!
