I know what you mean when you say you eat to excess, I used to do that every time we went for Chinese food. I still do that with potato chips, my downfall, and chocolate another one. I haven't had chips in quite a while, I refuse to go down that aisle in the grocery store. You feel much better if you don't eat to excess, I've even heard there are some studies that support eating less so you can live longer. Not sure how much there is to support that theory. Good luck with your resolutions, I know you can do it. LOL ie: lose weight and get/stay in shape im figuring that i shouldnt fall into the trap of waiting over a month to get going on my goals, instead of starting today. for so many people the fitness resolution becomes a big thing that gets obsessed about, they end up getting overwhelmed and quitting in february. you just wait and see the influx of new members in this group, and others, come january. hopefully we will pick up some great new active members, but most post for a while and then fade away. it seems better, for me anyway, to have daily goals... each day i rise to my to-do list, which includes the resolve to workout and eat properly. right now im working on accomplishing everything 4 days of the week. then i will move forward from there. :*carolyn. I typically don't do resolutions, I do goals instead and list them out step by step so they are easier to achieve. There is no point in setting a goal without a plan to achieve it, ya know. I will have to add that to my to do list soon. Not this week, though, it's finals so I'm too busy studying. Definitely next week though. Fresh or bulk and local whenever possible, although the sad truth is that I live in the country.... so have to drive 120 miles to a major city in order to buy locally grown organic produce. From folks who drive about as far to sell it. <rolling my eyes> Talk about food miles. Well, maybe not as bad as what you see lining the shelves at Whole Foods or Wild Oats or the other organic food chains. Lots of food miles and the added expense and environmental toll of the packaging. Happy New Year's to everyone.
