Guest guest
The only vegetable that I've found that I like that has been frozen is broccoli. I tried frozen green beans once and they tasted like rubber to me. Was I doing something wrong? I'd love cheaper choices, and in the freezer they won't go bad.. Guest guest
I've found that for green beans I have to cook a bit longer than I do for peas or broccoli. Crunchy green beans are an acquired taste. I myself like them ok but DH and DD don't so I cook them a bit longer, just enough to get them soft. Corn, when we eat it, I only cook for a few seconds, just enough to thaw and warm to taste. Limas I cook similar to green beans, till soft. Carrots, peas and broccoli are like corn but maybe a tad longer in the pot steaming with the lid on. That's about all I eat frozen. _________________ " Whatever women must do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult. Guest guest
I won't even feed frozen green beans to my kids. They have a weird texture...sort of rubbery, no mtter how hard I try to cook them correctly. But all the other frozen veggies turn out great. M.
