Guest guest
Hi, I love making turkey chilli with kidney beans and chili (pinto beans). Here is the recipe I got off of the 24 HR Fitness website sometime ago: 1 lb Turkey 1 can (16 ounces) Kidney Beans 1 can (32 ounces) crushed tomatoes 2 Cups water 1 large onion (chopped) 1 Tbsp Garlic (crushed) 2 Tbsp Chili Poweder 1/2 tsp cumin 1/2 tsp oregano 1/2 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/2 tsp salt Brown turkey. Add remaining ingredients and stir thoroughly. Cover adn cook on low on medium heat for 45 min. Stir occasionally. Serve with fat free sour cream or chives if desired. Makes 8 servings (serving size 10-12 ounces) Calories: 310 Total Fat: 5 grams Sat Fat: 1 gram Cholesterol: 21mg Sodium: 344 mg Carbs: 45 grams Protein: 23 grams Fiber: 17 grams I tweek this recipe alot. I usually get a chili seasoning packet, use the turkey, beans and tomatoes and call it a day. It tastes great. I've been to lazy to chop up all the other stuff (sad huh?) My hubby and father love this chili and I don't have to feel guilty eating it! I've seen great results and this has been a major meal in my challege (I can make so much and then freeze it). Hope this helps! > which beans are the best to eat? are all beans good? Guest guest
I don't have time to chop up onions and green peppers, which i use a lot of in my cooking, but you can buy bags of frozen chopped onions and peppers -- check in the frozen veggie section of your supermarket. I will saute the frozen stuff a little first if I'm making something like an omelet, but if I'm making something that cooks longer (such as a stew/soup/etc) I just throw the veggies in frozen and let them cook. Just an idea for a little timesaver. You can get canned chopped tomatoes and jars of chopped garlic, but then I think there is added other stuff in those (like sodium?)that you wouldn't have with fresh, so I'll usually use fresh for those things. Guest guest
I had just happened to defrost ground turkey planning to make something else for dinner, but when I read this I decided to try it. It was so good! And easy! (I used frozen onions and chili seasoning and skipped all of the spices, too.) I left it in the fridge before I went out and by the time I came home my boyfriend had eaten half of it. Thank you! > > which beans are the best to eat? are all beans good?
