Guest guest
Okay, I am done with school (until August 30) and am ready to actually delve into a challenge whole-hearted. Here is my problem: I will be working three 12-hour shifts per week. I live approximately 45 min. from work, so that eats up 1.5 hours of my time on workdays. My schedule is from 6:45pm until 7:15am. I get home around 8am. I have to leave for work that afternoon no later than 6pm. I will be working Fri, Sat, and Sun nights. I am wondering if anyone else has a schedule similar to this (i.e. I know there are some nurses out there on this board?) and how they work their BFL program. I need at LEAST 5-6 (preferably more if I'm working out) hours of sleep on the days I work, more if I'm overly exhausted. Would it be okay to do something like this: Monday - cardio in the AM after work, then go to sleep (yes, I can sleep after I workout...I can also just stay up from working Sunday night and go to sleep really early Monday night) Tuesday - weights in the afternoon (I lift much better in the afternoon, not to mention I have less chance of injuring joints, etc.) Wednesday - cardio in the AM, weights in the afternoon Thursday - do weights in the afternoon Friday - cardio in the AM I realize the ideal is to work out 6 days a week, but it would be really hard for me to go workout after I get home from work, then try to sleep for at least 5-6 hours, and wake up to get ready for work again. I have 2 kids and this would be taking time away from them quite a bit. My husband also works nights and sleeps during the day (Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Sat. nights) so he can't really help out with childcare during those times. I really need to lose the weight that I put on during the first year of nursing school, otherwise, when I start school back up in the Fall, I will be packing on pounds on top of what I've already gained. At least if I lose some of this weight, I can begin again at the start...LOL. The eating part is no problem at all because all I have to do is pack my big cooler with food for the night and then make sure I bring NO money with me. That way, I'm forced to eat what I prepared at work...LOL. I just need help with the workout part...what times would be best and how anyone else with similar work hours does it. Thanks in advance, M.
