Guest guest
Pancreatin, trypsin and chymotrypsin are pancreatic enzymes (pancreatin being the name for 1X pancreatic enzyme). 'Studies have shown that they are absorbed intact from the gut, but are also transported through the blood stream, taken up intact byt hte pancreatic sensoryy cells, and resecreted into the intestines by the pancreas' (from 'Encyclopedia Of Nutritional Supplements', Murray, ND, p394- Study by Liebow and Rothman, Enteropancreatic circulation of digestive enzymes, Science 189, 472-474, 1975) 'Of further interest is the possibility that oral supplementation with pancreatic enzzymes may have a sparing effect on the body's own digestive enzymes, perhaps reducing the stress on the pancrea and allowing the body to redirect energy to other areas'. Ibid, p394 Papain is a sulfhydryl protease from papaya, as is bromelain from pineapple plant. 'The Healing Power of Herbs', Murray ND,p60-61. As Dr Siff stated recommended dosages for bromelain is 250-500 mg 3x day, and the pancreatic enzymes 500-1000mg 3 times a day--for both either with meals for digestive aids, or at least 45 minutes before meals (on an empty stomach) for antiinflammatory effect. Thus you would be consuming a lot of Wobenzym to get the beneficial amounts necessary. Once more we get back to how fruits and vegetables have ingredients that are being discovered as beneficial for health and supplements should be just that--supplements to a heathly fruit and vegetable diet, lean meat, essential oil diet. Most supplements are being touted as replacements for a good diet-'replacement meals', 'exercise in a bottle'. By taking the time to study nutrition, supplements and doing the research, we should be able to enable ourselves and others to create better health and counteract some of the negative impact of our society and its disregard for health. Guest guest
Hi...I haven't been here for quite awhile....fell off the wagon, gained fat and weight back...still work out but not as intensly..trying to get " the vision " back..not quite there yet. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have heard of or tried " wobenzym n " ? I have had weird pain in the area of where my leg joins my left pelvic area..sometimes I am afraid to stand for fear that my leg will collapse, gotta remember to take off on the right leg..ha ha..esp. when poaching in tennis! Anyway this stuff sounds really good. In the past I have tired stuff and then it was all a waste of money, so I was hoping for someone's imput. Thanks, Pat
Guest guest
I'd never heard of " wobenzym n " so I looked it up. The claims are similar to glucosamine, chondroiton, and MSM. It is listed in the physician's desk reference. http://www.drugs.com/PDR/Wobenzym_Tablets.html It's not listed on the Arthritis Foundation website though, or Supplement Watch, or WebMD. All of them recommend glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM for joint health. I take a combo of all 3 called Flex-a-Min which works great. http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jhtml?CATID=100180 & id=prod19119 Maybe somebody else knows more about wobenzym. wobenzym n Hi...I haven't been here for quite awhile....fell off the wagon, gained fat and weight back...still work out but not as intensly..trying to get " the vision " back..not quite there yet. Guest guest
I don't know about anyone else in here, but I swear by Glucosamine/Chondroitin as well as Grapeseed Extract for joint/cartilage pain. wobenzym n Hi...I haven't been here for quite awhile....fell off the wagon, gained fat and weight back...still work out but not as intensly..trying to get " the vision " back..not quite there yet.
