This is great news.

I would like to make a monthly payment to SENATE to help with the finance of

the website.As a self employed person it would be best to enter any such

monthly payments in my own accounts as a professional subscription. FOr that

to happen I shall need a subscription form with a SENATE letterhead and

address ( I make payments towards the BMJ monthly) .

Could you invent a subscription form giving details of organisation,bank

account details of SENATE ,standing order form and so on . There may be

other members of SENATE who would also value this approach to offering

financial support. Such a scheme would then give SENATE a regular monthly

income. No doubt small at first but " great oaks from little acorns ..... "

Sounds like a good plan, Malcolm, thank you for the suggestion and support.

We do have a treasuer who has kept our books and the small amount of money

that we have, up to now, obtained by a 'passing around the hat' approach

at meetings, in addition to the float that we collected at Danbury for the

web page.

What do other think: should we develop a mechanism whereby those who wish

to support Senate can subscribe?

Dear All

I was at the MH taskforce last week and aside from the frustrations of hearing how MH monies continue to be "Dysoned" into paying off CEO's top-line

KPIs for trolleys and beds, I was able to place the CPHVA policy document on perinatal depression and docs from the Maternity Alliance and FWA

in front of Louis Appleby. I also highlighted, at generic level, some of the frustrations about dealing with those with mental ill-health which you have

been freely sharing.

Any more specific stories, please do let me know asap.

The three line base for developing MH capacity in the NHS is based on workforce, services and research. The NIMHE will be focussed on ensuring that

Govt MH policy is implemented (car boot sales could be involved?) through:

1. Early intervention

2. Assertive Outreach

3. Home Treatment.

These of course are traditionally aplplied to SEMI, but can equally apply as highest common factors to best practice in a fields of care in which you are involved daily.

My guess is that, as ever, secondary care will feather its own nests first.

I am the treasurer and have not started a separate account

for Senate since there is quite a lot of red tape etc

involved (possible fees etc as well) when the treasurer

changes. A separate account could be set up personally by

me and then when someone else takes over I write transfer

the money to their account and then close it.

I await the ensuing discussion!

I too would like to be able to subscribe. I will appreciate having

some form of letterheaded response receipt for tax purposes. But I

also want some way of being a proper member of Senate - this group is

important to me professionally.
