Guest guest
Recently, my son and I were to Sweetland Farm in Menomonie and to the Farm in Arkansaw. of Sweetland and Randy were very gracious in taking time out of their schedules to show us around their farms. Thank you so much Randy and ! We are very grateful and appreciative of your time! We were very impressed at the care the animals on their farms receive. The pastures were lush and very diverse. The cattle (prevalently Jerseys at Sweetland, Black Angus (I assume- did not ask-at ) were in tip-top shape, with clear eyes, calm dispositions and strong gait. Yes, even a suburban gal like me could tell! My socks were just about knocked off when I saw how deep the cream line on the Jersey milk was- 1/2 the entire gallon of milk! The hogs at the farm were obviously very contented. Chickens at both places were free range, on pasture. All the animals we saw were allowed to be themselves and do what their instincts tell them to do (dig, scratch, eat, etc.) which makes it so much more fun to observe them. I served chicken from the farm for company once and they could not stop raving over how good the chicken was. I have yet to try the beef from either farm, but having seen the conditions the animals are raised in, I am positive it is awesome. My son truly enjoyed the visits; I think he saw them as wonderful park-like havens from the insanity of the world we live in, for both the humans living and visiting there and the animals living there. I cannot recommend those farms highly enough. Below is the contact info for both farms. If you go, please tell them Sara & Henry sent you! ;-) Randy, Lynn and Andy 715-285-5226 andersonfarm@... www.andersonfarm.us Bauman & Dave Schmidt 715-232-8785 www.sweetlandfarm.com sweetland@...
