Guest guest
I know this is a bit off topic, but I just got two emails today with a virus in them sent to me. My virus detector picked it up immediately. Not that I would have opened the friggin attachment any way. From: hahaha@... (host-209-214-177-210.ags.bellsouth.net [209.214.177.210]) Subject: SNOWHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS - THE REAL STORY! attach: joke.exe attach: midgets.scr The virus was as follows: W32/Hybris.gen@M virus midgets.scr joke.exe Delete this email immediately if you get it DO NOT OPEN THE ATTACHMENTS! Folks, if you don't have a good virus protector that is frequently updated you better get one. These types of malicious attacks are getting more frequent as time goes on. Lots of these idiots are leaching email addresses off of internet forums and news groups so they can mass mail these types of virii to as many people as possible. Thus doing maximal damage and getting lots of attention. If you happened to get this virus and open the attachment, let me know and I will give you the necessary information to clean it from your system. This one attaches itself to your email address files so you will send it to everyone you know. So it is possible your friends can also innocently send you the same virus. The person who sent this is living on borrowed time as we speak. I traced the mail back to the server that was used to send it and that server is investigating this. I hope for their sake they covered their tracks really well from there because server log files don't tell lies.
