This is a " work " that children at my daughter's Montessori school can choose. My daughter loved doing it and I had to buy some on the cob just so she could do more at home. This is the kind of work that the kids always used to be responsible for in the old days - safe, helpful and they could quickly see reward for their work. The first couple of kernals can be hard to start, but it goes quickly after that. If the cobs came with some dried husks, you can use them to make little dolls and stuff. Fun winter projects!
