Guest guest
Ok, since i got my body fat calipers in and measured my body fat.. uggg... I am going to start tomorrow just like it is my first day. My body fat was 35%, so Hussmen said my BMR was between 1010 and 1390.. Ok, so my avearge meal would be 210 cal. each for 6 meals. so is that hard to do or not? I usually stayed under or right about 1470 cal. before buti had no idea what my body fat was so i guess i was going to high on my calories.. I did see results in places that was not covered up with fat . so am i going to be able to gain muscle as well as lose fat on this amount of cal.?do i need to eat mostly protein meals for this? any sugestions will be appreciated.... Guest guest
The way I was taught about BMR is that those are the calories that are required just to keep you alive. It's what your body needs to keep your heart, lungs, muscles, etc. going. Obviously, you do much more than that during the day. And if you exercise on top of all the usual daily activities, you burn even more calories. There was a website around here that you could plug in everything you do during the day and it would give you the total amount of calories you need. Things like taking the stairs, yardwork, walking to the mailbox, cleaning your house, parking far away from a store's entrance, etc. all burn a lot of extra calories when added up. To maintain the weight I'm at now, I can consume around 1800 calories a day. Obviously, I want to lose weight, so I can cut a couple of hundred out of the way and find a way to burn another couple of hundred. I'm not sure what some of the other ladies caloric intake is, but going below 1200 or close to it would be a surefire way for me to end up binging. Guest guest
, I wish I knew what I needed to maintain my weight, then I could just slowly go down from there. It seems no matter how much or how little I eat I weigh the same, within about 3 pounds. How did you figure it out? I have been eating around I think 1600 calories for the past 2 weeks, and it seems I have lost 5 pounds of fat, (the scale has stayed the same, but the inches are going) But, I wake up in the night STARVING (this never happens when I am eating more) and I get really cold really easily and tired and cranky. I am going to let myself eat a bit more for the next 2 weeks and see if I still lose. I think if I lose 1-2 pounds of fat per week, it is good. I would rather go slow and permanet then mess up my metabolsm any more. -- In , <melaniemiller2002@y...> wrote: > The way I was taught about BMR is that those are the calories that are required just to keep you alive.
