Carol,

I apologize for not reading all the responses before sending mine...

someone might have already suggested these possibilities -

Do you have a family dog ? If so, i'd consider finding out if the dog is

a carrier of beta strep. You'll need to culture the urogenital area to

confirm; since most vets are clueless. The antibiotic for Beta Strep is

penicillin (or derivative) and Beta Strep apparently doesn't develop

resistance to it . Don't know about cat, or other pets/pests.

Also if you're home schooling your kids, they may not be getting the

exposure from other kids to boost their immunity levels , so when a bug

finally gets into house things go wild.

Best,

child is the type of child that really wears one down, and so I took

her in to the Dr today, rather than trying to ride it out and see if

she would recover on her own. She too tested positive for strep and

is now on antibiotics.
