Guest guest
LOL, Jeff, you beat me to the punch line! I was going to ask the same thing. Noel, There are many great places to get some real (raw) milk. We even have a few groups that makes runs to the farms and take turns with the driving. This way you can get your milk every week or two and only have to do the drive yourself every couple/few months. We also have many great farmers markets too for all your other needs! Welcome to MN! Guest guest
I'm following this thread avidly, because I'm moving into the Twin Cities too. We'll be in Eagan. Is real (raw) cow's milk available? It looked like only goat milk is available when I looked at realmilk.com. And what kind of price range are we looking at? (Hooray! Milk!) Guest guest
> Hi Jeff, Thanks, good to be back. I¡¯m actually a native. Wifey and the girls are (mostly) English so it will be fun showing them around. I¡¯m going to be living in Mtka, just off Mtka Blvd so I can hop on 494 and get to any farms that are either NW or SW of here. I'd be happy to help carpool/milkpool as it was my job to get the milk on Saturdays anyway back in England. And I'd like to get some asap as they will be arriving next week. Any ideas? Guest guest
I know of two groups that go to WI to the Midvalleyvu farm http://www.midvalleyvu.com/ . their milk is $4 a gal. Great milk too, this is the place I get mine from. By the way, it is cow's milk. Yu do need to buy a share of the milking license for $25.00. I know there are a few others in the files of MNTF site. So make sure you check out the files and links. Guest guest
Hi Noel Next run is this Saturday for the nw group SE group was last Saturday. they each go about every 2 weeks I am currently a member of both. the NW started this spring. Milk is $4.00 a Gallon and they have many other things. you have to be a share holder in the farm to be able to buy your milk. the cost is around $30.00 and you will need to call the farm with your CC info as we do not deal with money on the route. thier web site is http://www.midvalleyvu.com/ let me know buy Thursday if you have gotten ahold Of midvalleyvu and they have your CC info and you have a farm Share, then you can have fresh cows milk saturday night. Guest guest
Greetings, I'd be happy to get 3-4 gallons if someone is going this weekend. I can't do the driving this weekend as I'm moving house but I would gladly take my shift if you know someone that is making regular runs. It looks like it's just across the border. Guest guest
Sounds good. You can count me in. I'll phone the farm tomorrow and become a member. You can pencil me in for 4 gallons and I'll plan on picking it up Saturday evening, or Sunday if that's easier. Whereabouts will the milk be? Guest guest
Anabel, There is a group in Burnsville/Eagan area that makes runs to Wisconsin twice a month for raw milk. When you get here, you can contact either me or Sara Rheault and see if there are openings in the group. One person drives each time and we take turns. The pick up point is at my house and I'm in Burnsville on the Eagan border. There are enough people in the group so that each person drives about 2-3 times a year. You can contact me off-list for more information. Krista Krista Boos 952-707-1263 babymonkeytoes@... Creative Memories Consultant Memory Keeping at Its Best! Guest guest
Noel, I'm the coordinator of the SE group (based in Burnsville). Therese coordinates the NW group. Her group is doing the run this week; our next run is next week. Which group did you want to join? Please contact either Therese Laurdan or myself to get started. I am not sure if Therese has room in her group. There is room in this group. You'd also have to contact Janet Brunner at MVV regarding the purchase of a farm share of $25.00. The MVV farm store is open Weds-Sat; you certainly can get milk and your share at any time you want- you do not need to wait for a run to happen. Hope this helps.
