Guest guest
At the CPHVA conference, some of us were expecting further clarification from either the Minister or Mullally about children's trusts, but nothing was forthcoming. The Children and Young Person's Unit website: http://www.cypu.gov.uk/corporate/services/trust.cfm has the following information about children's trusts. "Children's Trust The Children at Risk Review identified that there can be structural barriers to improving the co-ordination of services for children and young people. Department of Health and the Department for Education and Skills intend to pilot new models for the management of children's services. Such 'Children's Trusts' would offer opportunities for local agencies to come together on a voluntary basis in a new structure for joint planning, commissioning and delivery of services. Further information will be available from DH/DfES as the programme develops and links to key information will appear on this site." Clearly still a policy in the making (which can be the best time to influence)! In case anyone is interested, the CYPU has out to tender a call for Phase 2 evaluation of the Home Office's 'on-track' initiative (now part of the children's fund), which aims to prevent crime by supporting 4-12 year olds and their families. b/w sarah
