about the newish Public Health Observatories

from 9.45am to 4pm.

Free to NHS people, private sector have to pay £200, but everyone has

same contacts for programme information (many Senate members may

only want to go for part of the day).

The public health observatories should not just be a cosy sanctum for

a few doctors and statisticians, surrounded by banks and banks of

computers- they should become the servants of the wider health

improving community ! I do not know how much discussion time there

will be with the CMO etc, but brave Senate members might just be able

to bend his ear in regard to certain key professional issues about

cardigans ??? My past experience suggests that getting into a lunch

queue with the great and the good is sometimes an opportunity for

'full and frank' dialogue....

At a Regional level, the great and the good of London are likely to be
