Guest guest
Stasia, I thought I would let you know that Yoplait Ultra does have live cultures in it. I am not sure about the Dannon...haven't bought those. But the Yoplait Ultra contains live and active cultures. It's got 8g of carbs (5g sugar) for the 6oz and it's real yogurt. They only have about 4 flavors out so far....peach is the best one I've tried.....but I'm sure as it catches on, they will develop more flavors. M. P.S. For anyone who has an Alberton's nearby, they are selling the Yoplait 10/4.00 this week. S Bachrach <s_bachrach@...> wrote: Of the items marked as low carb yogurts. I read the ingredients and there's no yogurt in them. They aren't all bad, but they don't have those live yogurt cultures. They do consist of some lowfat milk product and some whey protein concentrate so they're ok. They're low carb, and don't contain enough protein to be categorized as a protein so I don't know what to call them. One of the main ingredients is water. So spend your money wisely and buy sugar free yogurt. Those usually have 13-17 grams of carb and all the yogurt cultures. These low carb dishes do have calcium and some nutritional value but I wouldn't turn around for the difference in 8 carbs rather than 13 carbs. It just isn't enough to make a difference. Being a devout label reader I thought I'd share this info. Stasia
Guest guest
Is Dannon Light not good? Its the only one I finally found that I like and I eat it everyday! I can't find sugar free anywhere around here (Rhode Island)! We have Dannon, Stonyfarm, Yoplait and Hood. I can't remember the others, but none are sugar free. Oh boy...what should I look for on the label? > Stasia, > > I thought I would let you know that Yoplait Ultra does have live cultures in it. I am not sure about the Dannon...haven't bought those. Guest guest
Actually, there's no such thing as sugar free yogurt (the lactose gives it sugar). But, you can find no sugar added yogurt. These usually have a sweetener added, instead of additional sugar. I'm pretty sure Dannon Light is a no sugar added yogurt. Yoplait has one too. _________________ " Whatever women must do they must do twice as well as men to be thought half as good. Luckily, this is not difficult. Guest guest
You won't find a sugar free yogurt because it's always going to have milk sugars in it. So look for one that doesn't have any added fructose, corn syrup, etc. The Yoplait Ultra doesn't have any of that and it's sweetened with Splenda. The sugars are coming from the milk in the yogurt, not any added source. Most light yogurts will have added sugar. They take out the fat, but add the sugar! Just read your ingredients and look for those hidden syrup and fructoses. M. ggmc04 <ggmc04@...> wrote: Is Dannon Light not good? Its the only one I finally found that I like and I eat it everyday!
