I'm pretty sure they mean alcohol as in beer, wine, etc. (alcohol has

a different # of calories per gram than carbs, protein, or fat, so it

has to be tracked differently.) On the other hand, sugar alcohols

are also a real thing. They're basically sugar that has been

chemically altered so that it doesn't effect your insulin levels the

same way regular sugar does (ie you don't get sugar spikes and

crashes.) However, they do still have calories (between 2-3 per gram

versus regular sugar's 4 per gram) and therefore they will still

effect weight gain or loss, regardless of whether they are " impact

carbs " or not.

there are such things as sugar alcohols. you'll find them in a lot

of low carb foods that have sweeteners. the alcohol category on fit

day just means beer, wine, liquor, etc.

OK, you guys were right... I just went to the site and added a rum

and coke to my " foods eaten " chart, and it made my alcohol totals go

up... Thanks for your help guys!

Oh btw ... the reason they list alcohol in its own category is

because it is worth 7 calories per gram...

protein = 4 calories per gram

carbs = 4 calories per gram

fats = 9 calories per gram
