Guest guest
I have been slowly making my way through the books Will and others had suggested a couple months ago regarding cholesterol (dh's came back a bit high, and then subsequently, my HDL's came back too low with TG's too high, which I find exceedingly odd since we have almost no sugar in our diet). We had read through 21 days to a healthy heart and he made the arguement that one should drink wine to raise HDL's. (Ironically, the cholesterol myths seemed to think that low HDL's were nothing to worry about, but I suppose that is another topic.) So, even though dh and I are not big alcohol consumers, I trotted off to the wine store and bought several bottles of red wine in hopes that my purchases would do more for our health than for the economy. So tonight, I am enjoying my Kendall Merlot and it occurs to me, I would NEVER eat a non-organic grape, so why am I drinking wine made from grapes that surely have been heavily sprayed? So at this point I do not know what to believe or what to do. Any suggestions or input? Carol F
