I am working with a few clients who are pregnant. They have been

severely warned by their doctors AND MIDWIVES to stay away from ALL

soft cheese and RAW CHEESE because of the bacteria. This, is contrary

to what I know, but I value the knowledge and experience of this group.

What do you recent mothers know of this issue?

Are they telling their patients to stay away from breastmilk b/c of the

bacteria also? Makes about as much sense. Even before I knew about real

food I ate soft and raw cheeses in my pregnancy. For one week all I

could eat was Brie cheese. Straight off the knife. Nothing else. It

saved me and is 2 and I would say better than fine!

A better warning would be to stay away from processed and dead food and

keep yourself healthy with real food, whatever that may be.

PS. Does everyone know that getting adjusted during pregnancy reduces

labor time? check out www.icpa4kids.org

I get so mad at doctors now days. They tell mom's to be, only sleep on this

side, do not eat this or that, blah, blah, blah. If all this junk they are

saying is true, then how did all of us survive???? Our mom's in the ignorance,

seemed to go through pregnancy just fine.

My only suggestion for my girls was, sleep how ever it is most comfortable, eat

what sounds good as long as it is not filled with chemicals, artificial or empty

nutritional food, eat a verity of foods, drink plenty of water. Fish, caught in

polluted (or unknown source) waters, was a no, no though.

I believe God gives us a built in mother factor, we know naturally what our

bodies need. Cravings can show a nutritional defect or an increased need in our

diet. If you are uncomfortable sleeping, maybe it is because of how the baby is

laying in urtro, so sleeping how you are comfortable just may shift the baby to

a better position???

As long as your raw milk and cheese is from a good source, known to raise their

animals in a natural and clean environment, on foods God created them to eat, I

say ENJOY! To HECK with modern medicine's way of thinking! God gave us a brain

and we need to use it!

The very best sewing-machine a man can have is a wife.

It is one that requires but a kind word to set it in

motion, rarely gets out of repair, makes but little

noise, will go uninterruptedly for hours, without the

slightest trimming, or the smallest personal

supervision being necessary. It will make shirts, darn

stockings, sew on buttons, mark pocket handkerchiefs,

cut out pinafores, and manufacture children's frocks

out of any old thing you may give it; and this it will

do behind your back just as well as before your

face... Of course sewing machines vary a great deal.

Some are much quicker than others. It depends, in vast

measure, upon the particular pattern you select... In

short, no gentleman's establishment is complete

without one. "

My take on this:

Raw cheese and milk is wonderful and beneficial for all of us. However, I

would NOT take up those products for the first time during a pregnancy. I would

do well before or after. If I had been drinking and eating those delicious

unheated milk products for a while before I got pregnant, I would keep on doing

so! (Just a side note: Organic Valley still heats their cheese- unfortunately

many cheese producers play with the definition of " pasteurization " . Aged

cheeses have a better chance of being unheated- truly raw cheese can be sold

only if having been aged a certain time, such as in Wisc.)
