Guest guest
Hello, My family had been eating organic magoes, peel and all for several months. Then, about two months ago I read something about the peel being toxic....apparently they are in the poison sumac/ivy family. I looked online and seemed to find conflicting information. One site said the potential problem was with the stem end and the sap. Another said that the whole peel was an issue. Yet, I also read that people in regions that mango are native to, cut the end off and suck the ripened fruit out! So, I am a bit confused. I would think that if we were going to have problems with some sort of a reaction we would have had it by now! Besides, doesn't the peeling process still 'contaminate' the fruit? Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks, ~
