Guest guest Posted December 13, 2000 Report Share Posted December 13, 2000 : I tend to do no flat bench exercises in my work with volleyball, some dumbbell incline presses and some overhead presses strictly as a skill transfer exercise to the push press/jerk. Most pressing we do is total body in nature and explosive. Blocking is one movement where pressing through a ball is done on more of an incline at about a 45 degree angle away from the body, not quite totally overhead. Most of this strength as you know is necessitated from the torso vs. just from the shoulder girdle.
