I was not looking for a " smart " comment- we are looking for cows raised

organically so that we can add them to our herd. If cows are raised

organically, are they not " organic " ??? Just as if a plant is raised

organically, that makes it organic- right??? You know what I'm getting at.

Tara

Hi Tara,

I seriously doubt that there is any such animal as an " Organic

Dairy Cow " - the product of a cow that is fed natural, unsprayed, or

otherwise adulterated foodstuffs in its diet as feed and fodder will

then PRODUCE an organic (or natural) product as milk or beef.

If you are looking for new cows, you may be interested in this

On the 'Links' section there is a number of useful sites - the AMDA

one does list some cattle breeders located in Wisconsin. Might be

worth looking into...

It was not intended to be a 'smart' comment - just a studied use of the term;

organic BEEF which is a dead cow meant to be eaten - or organic MILK that is

meant to be used by those that do not wish to have growth hormones, etc in their

food.

You CAN buy a worn out milk cow from a 'factory farm' that has been mis-used

since birth, and still by feeding it without all those chemicals and in a

natural environment milk out an organically produced product!

Why does this have to be so complicated???? LOL We are looking for

organically raised cows that have been treated well, raised mostly on good,

green ORGANIC pasture, and are organic certified according to MOSA standards

I hope that's better. LOL

Thanks Kathy- I will try there!

Tara,

I don't have any cows for you...organic or not. LOL Have you tried posting

your

request on another group for raw dairy? The address is http://

health./group/RawDairy. The list moderator is an organic

dairy farmer in Wisconsin. There also might be other members that can help.

Congratulations and good luck!

hey Patti-

We ARE neighbors!! LOL We're also in - we're renting Claude McGee's

place- also in , but we live on the corner of 128 & N- right by

Stockmans! LOL It's a small world! LOL

I did call MOSES too, and we got a list from them, but they either haven't

called us back, or they are sold, so...

Thanks though!

Tara, Another resource is MOSES. Midwest Organic & Sustainable

Educational Services. They are located in Spring Valley. The # is 715-

772-3153. They have tons of info related to organic farming. Where in

WI are you located? We may be neighbors. Patti , , WI.

That's pretty funny Patti! My daughter Cassie just said, " HEY! That's

Arianna's parent's! " Well, I'm glad you enjoy the view of our cows! Hey...

If you could go out and let us know when the cows are mounting each other-

which tag numbers are the ones being mounted- then we'll know which ones

need to be bred! LOL Just kidding!!! We bought the herd, and have found

that the dates are SO FAR OFF for calving, and most of them we think aren't

bred, so... We're hurting! We NEED 20 more to make our budgeted numbers, or

pretty soon, you won't see our cows out there any more!!! We're going to

have to sell them all soon. So.... If you come across a bunch of organic

cows for sale, let us know- PLEASE!!!!!
