Good job that's great. I am curious how fast you ran mile one and mile two.

My goal for my next 5K is 25 minutes. I just ran one, but it took 27 min 45

sec. I ran the beginning too fast and ran out of energy at the end.

Congratulations!

Hey -

My first mile was in 8:45. Mile 2 was around 18 minutes I think - I slowed

down by the end, too. I had to stop twice between miles 2 and 3 because I

started to get a cramp in my side. But when I stopped I realized that I had

to go to the bathroom so I immediately got started again :-). The few times

that I have run after having eaten anything are the few times that I have

gotten cramps in my side. The race started at 9am so I really didn't have

much of a choice but to eat or else I would have been starving. I don't

exactly know the mechanics of how/what/when to eat before running a race.

I'm doing a 10K in June so I hope I can figure it out before then!

Thanks!

Thank you! I am not sure what to eat either before a race. I usually work

out on an empty stomach, but did not want to for this race. Maybe, I should

not have done anythng different. I think I just ran the first mile to quickly,

especially after hearing your first mile time. I ran the first mile in 7 min

55 sec and the fastest I have ever run a mile is 7 min 45 sec. I guess you

are supposed to run the last mile the quickest. Thank you for your information!

of 27 minutes! Yay for me! I think I came in right around 26:45,

but I know it was less than 27. I was gasping for air after my

sprint to the finish line and forgot to stop my watch, but the

official times might be in the paper tomorrow. I'm just amazed that

I beat my goal. I thought I set it a little too low for my first 5K

in 8 years, considering I did that one in 30 minutes, while I was

still in the military and supposedly " in shape " .

sponsorship was $182. Not bad for 5 days notice! Thanks again!
