TenaciousJ, it is very possible to have gained muscle at that rate.

Judging from your pix that is exactly what happened because I see

great progress! You are smaller all over especially your love

handles. You have done a great job!

Now throw away those scales please! And got to Skwiggs site.

Read 'Why the scales lie' and '4 week freak out'. After reading these

you will feel better! Here is the link

http://skwigg.tripod.com/wow/id24.html

Also go to Hussman's and read 'You really do change from the inside

out!' here is the link

http://www.hussman.org/fitness/

Now having read all this you should feel awsome about your progress!

Now will you continue to gain muscle at this rate? probably not (did

I mention I wish I could gain muscle at that rate?) Lucky for you you

have increased your lean mass thus increasing your metabolism thus

increasing your ability to burn fat. You see you have found your way

into a visciuos circle of goodness (lucky girl!) it is a win win

situation.

Keep up with the good work! If you keep doing what you are doing by

week 12 you will see amazing results I am sure.

Congratulations! You have made great progress; how wonderful!! I am going to

take my stats down next week, the end of my first 4 week challenge. I'm

excited. So far I've lost 5.5 pounds scale weight but haven't taken any more

measurements.

Two comments: 1) I can see a marked difference in the 2 photos, and I think

it's wonderful and incredible that you did all that in just 4 weeks. The

biggest thing I see is how you don't pooch where the bathing suit bottom hits

your hips, and the second thing is the muscle definition I'm seeing in your

back. Lookin' good!!! 2) 50 pushups? 50 situps? Suddenly I feel very old and

very weak. LOL

Congrats on your progress!

Beginners always gain new muscle pretty easily when they first start training

hard. That phenomenon will taper off pretty quickly so enjoy the dramatic

changes while you've got them. Any new lean mass you're building right now will

only help to burn off the fat and keep you lean.

Try not to get too hung up on the exact body fat numbers. Those readings can be

very extremely squirrelly. As long as they're showing a downward trend and as

long as you're losing inches, well, it doesn't get any better than that. :-)

You're doing great. The lost inches really show. It's funny that you look at

your pictures and see how far you need to go, because I looked at your pictures

and thought, wow, she's close!

Think about the women starting BFL with over 100 pounds to lose, over 200

pounds. They're here and they're doing it and they're kicking ass. :-) YOU are

already in the home stretch and you're going to be amazed at the changes in your

body with just one challenge.

4 week progress

I put my 4 week progress here

http://www.bodyblog.com/Public.asp?id=982

I

now if bodyfat calculations are correct I have lost 6 pounds of

fat and gained 5 pounds of lean. That seems like a lot of muscle and

I am not sure if it is possible, maybe some of it is water.

my question is, if I am building muscle very fast, I am supposing it is due

to the fact that I just started and that it will slow down. When will I start

losing

more fat then I am gaining muscle???

I know I shouldn't care, but the muscle will have to stop at some point right?

How much LBM can you get anyway????? I just want to get to a size 6.

Thank you so much .

I have read the Hussman site before, but I should probably re-read it once a

week.

I just re-read it and I was like yeah!

I have to remember this is long term here.

Thanks for the encouragement. My MO in the past is to give up and to go in the

oppisite direction (it is easy to achieve results in fat gaining :) .

I just HAVE to stay away from that kind of thinking.

Thank you! thankyou! thankyou!

I actually couldn't see the difference at first, now I can.

Most of the women could only do 12 push ups.

I used to only be able to do 3.

Skwigg,

I knew you would have something good to say.

I think we should all get t-shirts that say

WWSD?

(what would Swigg do?)

she most certainly would not say " give up, it's futile "

ok, I will just build away. Then I will burn baby burn!!!!

and I will keep saying,

" I am in the home streatch " it might be a long one, but I am in it.

Thanks

Are these knee push ups or feet push ups? Either way that's great. I just

could not imagine being able to do 50 of the feet push ups. I guess that

should be my new goal. lol.

congratulations!

now I can't wait to find out!!!! I woke up this morning and my left shoulder and

neck

got crunched when I was sleeping, so I will try when they loosen up.
