Not sure if anyone else does this...

With the recent decision to minimize or eliminate microwave use, I was

faced with a problem at work. Do I limit all future lunches to cold

items or is there a way to heat up food at work? I've also decided to

not drink coffee daily anymore... not necessarily giving it up

forever, just don't like the headaches if I happen to miss a day.

I'm the only one at work that uses the coffee pot, so as I

contemplated whether to give in and heat the chili in the micro or

pass on lunch, a light bulb went off. I scooped some chili into the

coffee pot and flipped the switch. It worked great! It worked just

like a slow cooker.

My cooworkers think I'm totally nuts, but that's OK. It opened the

door to discuss these kind of things.

Luke, that is a great way to start conversation. But when the idea gets

old, and the coffee pot is hard to wash, get a small hot plate and a small

pot like corningware or similar that is easier to wash. There is a small Le

Creuset combination pan that is a small pan and the lid is a small omelet

pan that can be used in different ways. I love mine. Washes great also.
