Guest guest
I tried this site http://www.mybodycomp.com/index.html and got the same as my tanita scale. 37% bodyfat. The YWCA reading says 24% which sounds low to me, but 37% seems high. Could some of you try it and tell me how it compares to your other readings? It is free, and also a good way to track progress. Guest guest
My Tanita scale has said my bodyfat is 30% since I started 11 weeks ago. It goes down to 28% some days, then back to 30. So, I don't use it anymore. I also did my fat at mybodycomp.com and it said 26.4%- but healthcentral.com said 21.3%. My current weight is 127 (I'm 5' 6 " and have gone from 132 size 10 to size 4/6 since January.) I do have a high abdomen/hip ratio ( my stomach is fat) so I guess my bf could be 26%, but that just sounds a bit high to me. (Obviously I think it must be inaccurate because I don't like those numbers..LOL!) Anyway, I think you should go with your YWCA results if they used calipers. It is probably the most valid. > I tried this site > > http://www.mybodycomp.com/index.html > > and got the same as my tanita scale. 37% bodyfat. > > The YWCA reading says 24% which sounds low to me, but 37% seems high. > > Could some of you try it and tell me how it compares to your other readings? > > It is free, and also a good way to track progress. Guest guest
My handheld mOron this morning read 36%. Mybodycomp.com gave me 40.1% biofitness.com gave me a reading of 32% healthcentral.com read at 30.8%. So I am somewhere between 30.8 and 40.1. I am leaning more towards 35-36% only because of my boobs. The only ones that took that into account are the mOron and the mybodycomp.com. Whatever method you use just make sure thats the one you use all the time. And keep in mind that none are 100%. Guest guest
I just tried healthcentral.com and it said 28.5%/the tanita and mybody comp say 37%. I think I will continue to use a few methods, but monitor the trends. Thanks for the information. (I find the almost 10% discrepency, disconcerting. > > I tried this site > > > > http://www.mybodycomp.com/index.html > > > > and got the same as my tanita scale. 37% bodyfat. > > > > The YWCA reading says 24% which sounds low to me, but 37% seems > high. > > > > Could some of you try it and tell me how it compares to your other > readings? > > > > It is free, and also a good way to track progress. Guest guest
How frusterating, dammned tanita! it should really give some encouragement. The YWCA that I was talking about was just waist, so I am not sure about that. I think I should get some calipers! Guest guest
" I find the almost 10% discrepency, disconcerting. " I dont even pay attention to it. Like said yesterday if ya got boobs you will measure higher on certain methods. The handheld mOron ( or Omron) takes the fat in the chest into account. AS does the mybodycomp site. All those others do not. You should see what I read when using calipers. WAY LOW. Because the sites for the calipers do not do a chest reading on women. Thats where I carry most of my bodyfat anyway. I just used all those sites as examples of how " off " reading will be. > > > I tried this site > > > > > > http://www.mybodycomp.com/index.html > > > > > > and got the same as my tanita scale. 37% bodyfat. > > > > > > The YWCA reading says 24% which sounds low to me, but 37% seems > > high. > > > > > > Could some of you try it and tell me how it compares to your other > > readings? > > > > > > It is free, and also a good way to track progress. Guest guest
Right, okay I am just going to let go of these thoughts, if I can fit into a size 8 and then eventually a size 6 that will be fine. > > > > I tried this site > > > > > > > > http://www.mybodycomp.com/index.html > > > > > > > > and got the same as my tanita scale. 37% bodyfat. > > > > > > > > The YWCA reading says 24% which sounds low to me, but 37% > seems > > > high. > > > > > > > > Could some of you try it and tell me how it compares to your > other > > > readings? > > > > > > > > It is free, and also a good way to track progress.
