Hello Tana,

I'm fairly new to this group also, although I've seen most all of the Weston

A price material related to trad foods, etc. I'm working on an arrangement with

a central MN dairy that is organic & grass-fed. I deliver our organic eggs into

the Plymouth area weekly and obviously go right past Maple Grove. I can add you

to the list of potential interested consumers waiting for this to work out. Will

be in the Midtown Public Market this season representing Whole Farm Coop- Long

Prairie, MN For more details about our products check out www.wholefarmcoop.com

or www.mnorganiceggs.com Welcome to the group! Alvin Schlangen- Freeport MN

their contact info and I understand they are not accepting new customers. The

only other option I've found is 2 1/2 hours away from me in WI (I live in Maple

Grove, a northwest suburb of Minneapolis).

Also what is the food swap? I don't have Microsoft Publisher so I can't open

the flyers and I am not sure what actually happens at these or where they are.

It's very intriguing though!

Sorry if these are stupid questions, but I've looked through the files and

didn't see anything that answered them.

Thanks,

Tana

Welcome to the group, Tana!

I organize a group of people who take turns going out to MidValleyVu Farms

to pick up stuff for the others in the group. There are a few people in the

group who are interested in spinning off, and forming their own group based on

their geographic location- which so happens to be in YOUR neck of the woods! (I

am in the South, and sorta East of the Cities.) Therese Laurdan of this group

was gonna start it up. Therese? Any news on the group forming up? Remember,

I'm happy to help out any way I can, if you need any advice, tips or whatever!

The group I organize is busting at the seams, and I am having to start to turn

people away because we are averaging 50 gallons of milk per run! Once your

group forms and the few here who live north and west leave my group for yours,

then those on the waiting list can get in! And everybody's happy! And MVV too!

Oh goodie, more business for them! (which they so well deserve, BTW!)

Sara,

I just can't seem to get a definite answer from everyone. If I was

less busy with the children and stuff, maybe I could jump start things

a little better. If ANYONE on this list is interested in forming a NW

group to maked MVV runs, please email my off list and let me know

where abouts you live.... etc....

I just joined this group and this is my first post. We are in St

Cloud. If St. Cloud wouldn't be too far for a milk run, I'd

recommend the Molitor's in Luxemburg (about 3 miles south of 94 at

the Hwy 15 exit in St Cloud). If you want their phone number, email

me. They are certified organic, and they sell raw if you pick it up.

Thanks Jeff, I appreciate it! I think I understand now. Are these monthly

events? I will be out of town April 1 but will try to make the next one.

Alvin, Is the farm you know of the farm near St. Cloud that another

list member just refered to? or is this another option?

Kristi, the farm where we get our raw milk is near Freeport, MN The farmer was

in the St ph Farmers Market with ground beef and steaks, roasts, etc.

iwouldn't compare these with rpoduct from 1000 hills as these are from the beef

side of a airy far (bull calves and cull cows). He obviously cannot bring raw

milk to the market, but can sell direct from the farm. The St Cloud area farm is

owned by a classmate of mine from high school. It's interesting how few Future

Farmers of America are still farming.

I'll be checking out both dairies for management details and logistics for

pickup and payment. Thanks for your interest in central MN organic food

prodution. Alvin

Alvin, thank you in advance for checking out the two farms. I would

appreciate it if you would keep my name jotted down somewhere as to

get back to me on this. I personally know 3 other people in my area

(north suburbs) who are also interested, and I believe there are a

couple more in the north burbs on this list who are wanting milk as

well. I would love to see a north coop for milk.
