Guest guest
I know WAY TOO MUCH about the local holistic vet scene that I can't say in public, but I can say that I endorse and Jim Sinning to the moon. I have helped mentor since she was just out of high school and she is 100% the real thing, her husband too. It's really great to see that they are finally out on their own and able to shine. After practicing holistic veterinary medicine for over 20 years I sold my practice in 1999 and have been doing other things since. I really miss the good old days but I like this new life even more. Incidentally, a truly holistic vet eschews all the real profit-making scams (90% of what is offered is unnecessary, dangerous and bogus) and therefore makes about 25% of the income of a conventional vet, they have to know regular medicine BETTER than the conventional ones, PLUS they must have knowledge of one or more forms of alternative medicine (all training is post-graduation and self-paid), and, worst of all, they WILL be gunned down and destroyed by the vet board sooner or later. Holistic practices also draw in the nicest people in the world, BUT ALSO every nut and psychopath in town! It's almost like taking a sacred vow of poverty to go this path, but most of us that did it, feel a spiritual calling to do this and could not sleep at night if we weren't true to ourselves.
