Guest guest
Rumours that HV registration may not yet be as safe as we had all thought are beginning to surface again. (just when we all thought it was safe to get back into the water!) There is a sense of deja vu. In January 1998, when JM Consulting first recommended that health visitors should be regarded as nurses, Nursing Times asked me to write something about why health visiting should be seen as a separate profession. I was debarred from doing that because CPHVA had just gone out to consultation and I was Chair. Perhaps I should have just been a rebel - I think I would have done if I had known that the organisation were going to conclude change the stance they had held for the last 100 years. Anyway, I wrote this instead - I found it cathartic to write, but Nursing Times turned it down as 'too oblique' for the readers to understand. Comments?
