Guest guest
Thank you all of you for organising this - all sounds great and i am glad June has agreed to the Thurday. The debate title I think is fine but cane we change the seecond sufficiently to somethibng eles - i was always taught that you should not use the same word twice in a sentance. I cannot at this moment come up with anything else but will think onit. Also June dose not have an "e" on her . The last comment about the Senate worried me slightly - I thibk we should stick to the promotion of the profession - it sounds a bit competitive. Great if will be the contact - many thanks. Guest guest
We might need to work on the wordin: dear never uses one word if ten will do!! I thought the debate was about whether you had to be a nurse to be a health visitor: the motion needs to be short and snappy . The constituion of the SENATE reads very differently from the descriptor here, which I don't think is accurate; we will feed the CPHVA's paranoia about us if we look as if we are setting up in opposition. All we want to do is debate professional issues and develop health visiting and school nursing practice - without having to apologise for being proud of our profession allk the time, as happens elsewhere. Many thanks to you all for doing the leg work and organising about this: I will get back to you after confirming the motion. Kind regards Bidmead wrote: MARY HAS BEEN HARD AT WORK! Any comments? > Good flyer, but if we are able to use UCL's facilities, it must be free to UCL students and staff, to get the reduced rate they are likely to charge us. I anticipate that only a few locals will attend. Guest guest
Dear and Margaret, Please feel free to change the wording of the title of the debate. I have just chatted with who was just trying to set the ball rolling. However the ball does need to role fast as we need to get the fliers out quickly. can get 2,000 for £100 when we have agreed the content. I agree with Margaret and yourself the end part also need some rewording. 'The SENATE is an enabling group for health visitors and school nurses for interactive involvement and networking on professional issues'. This is my suggestion although it sounds a little clumsy. Anyone any other ideas? The constitution says: A key area of interest is the so-called ‘policy-practice gap’ that opens up when there is a difference between what is expected, hoped for or promoted in national and local policies, and what actually happens in the practice situation. 3 SENATE aims: · to be a voice in the development of and influence on policy affecting health for health visiting and school nursing · to provide an interactive discussion group where policy and practice issues can be debated and explored · to influence policies affecting health with particular reference to health visiting and school nursing. · to provide clarity of purpose for health visiting and school nursing through professional leadership. I have put here the part of the constitution that says what we are about. I think we need some sort of précis of this. Guest guest
This reads aa amuch better end to me. I have also looked at 's suggstion for a motion which I thibk is simple and fine. The NursingTtimes should do a piece for us to be published on the day of the debate if June and will write a short bit about what they are to say. I will liaise with over this as i am not sure where she is at with the publicity.
