I don't know how much a regulation shot put weighs, buy I'm pretty

sure it's quite a bit more than two kilograms. If we assume

that " only a few grams more " means, say, twenty grams, then the

Russian studies you refer to found neuromuscular maladaptation occurs

when the mass of the object thrown in training is less than one

percent greater than the mass of the object thrown in competition.

Is this correct?

When you have athletes perform this type of training, what are the

differences in mass between the practice object and competition

object? What measurable improvements in performance have you

documented? If you've published this info, would you be so kind as

to provide a citation?
