Guest guest
Hi...I'm experimenting with a men's citrus blend for an EDP with citrus top notes, neroli and orange blossom in the heart, and another major note is litsea (May Chang), but I've added a drop or 2 too much of patchouli. Sniffing the bottle, the lemony and orangy citrus and floral notes do come through, but there's just a little too much patchouli for what I'm really after, even though the patchouli does make it smell sexy! Does anyone know what note or notes might push the patchouli more into the background? Or is my citrus blend now a patchouli-based scent for good?! I'm assuming the patchouli won't calm down as the blend matures. (Incidentally, I also have tiny amounts of balsam peru and musk ambrette in it.) I've made a second blend that's similar to that one, except I added vetiver, and just doing the sniff test, I think I really prefer vetiver with citrus over patchouli with citrus.
