Bonnie, what is an IHSS provider? I am so sorry about your pain. What kind of back problem do you have? Do you need PT or surgery? Do you have a friend or family member who could help? How about a church? Don't you have a christian friend who would be happy to help? I have a christian friend who comes every Sunday and plays with Karac while I get dressed; she also takes him home for me after church. She would come any time that I would have a need if I just asked her. There must be people that you could call on for help. What about a neighbor? I have never had back pain; so I don't know what helps. I'm sure you have tried everything--ice pack, ibuprophen etc. My son is a LPT and he prescribes ibuprophen, certain exercises, an alternating hot and cold; twenty minutes off and on. Pat K

What does the IHSS do for you? How did you get it? I'm sure you don't feel like answering now, but when you have time and feel like it. I hope the pain doesn't last much longer. Pat K

Dear Bonnie,

I too have had lower back pain on occasion, the kind (sciatica) which

travels down my leg. I have found with my pain is it eventually

goes away in a few days or at the most a week. Also what I have

found helpful is to keep somewhat active - walking for instance.

Also try to avoid any activities that put any strain on your back. I

know this is hard when you have an active child. I find it hard to

drive when I have this kind of back pain or even getting out of the

car. This site may be helpful to you. Good luck and I hope you feel

better soon. Sandy

two chewables of tylenol for kids and the last two, all I have then

is tylenol pm and that puts you to sleep. Excedrin makes me ill and

I need to eat first before taking that and I already had a sudafed

for allergies.
