Guest guest
Someone last week had inquired about Voight's workouts, which reminded me that I hadn't done one of hers in awhile. Total Body Training Pilates was still wrapped in cellophane until this morning! uses a "Resist-a-Ring" for some of the exercises, a round rubber ring to add resistance, but I was able to use my 4 lb medicine ball instead. There are some stretches to warm up with, but at 4:30 a.m. I am NOT flexible like I am in the evening! The first set of exercises were inner thigh work, and they were quite effective! I put the ball between my knees and did bridge lifts while used the ring. The adductors don't always get targeted much unless you do plie squats or something, so this was fun! After that were some traditional crunches, then reverse crunches, then - whoa! Back to MORE inner thigh work with three or four different kinds of leg scissor moves out to the side. I *know* I will feel this tomorrow for sure! After that is was back to more legwork laying down on the side while you do variants of leg lifts. I did them without the ring, which made it harder because the top leg didn't get to rest on anything, so my outer thighs got a great workout here too. Lastly, you get on all 4's and do variants of donkey kicks. Next were 8 pushups, then 8 tricep pushups on one side, then the other. There were a couple more stabilization exercises after that, then a stretch. This was a great pilates-type workout! My only critique is that it isn't really a "total body" workout. This one without a doubt targets the thighs, the inner thighs in particular - not that I'm complaining too much here, as this is a problem area for me and I'll take all the help I can get!Tonite I hope to do that Reebok upper body tape with Petra Kolber, and also a stretch tape. Hope everyone has a great workout week!In adduction,
