Guest guest
I know I’ve been absent for a while but I think I’m coming out of the worst of my depression. Depression is a monster I’ve been fighting since I was a teenager – some times are better than others I usually feel great or terrible. Anyway exercise is my sword against the bad times. Other than that I fought a battle against a flu bug that was deadly to many people. I’m still breathing so I guess I won. But the process to recovery has been slow. And since I’d have felt silly saying my exercise for the day was getting out of bed, biking the kids to all their activities and doing a wee bit of yoga – I’ve sort of stayed away. But I’m back – a bit weaker than I was (ok a lot) but ready to restart a fitness program. My fitness goals are more simple now but I hope to build back up as quickly as I can. I’ve sort of been half reading emails so I’d love to hear others fitness goals especially from those new to the list or those who need a bit of encouragement to accomplish them. I haven’t gained any inches but also no inch loss. So here are the goals I have set for myself: Rebuild stamina and endurance by doing daily beginner/intermediate cardio work (with rest days as needed). Rebuild Strength doing a one body part a day routine. Stay sane with twice daily yoga. No naps! Cut down on soda. These are my goals for July. I haven’t got a schedule set up yet, but hopefully by tonight I will have some plans on how to accomplish all this. If anyone has ideas I’d love to hear them. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Guest guest
Will you be able to get in 2 yoga sessions/a strength session/some cardio work in on a daily basis?? Or is this why you don't want to nap? Naps are cool!! I bet some people out there wished I took one right now...LOL!! --Carl ----- Original Message ----- From: Sprague Rebuild stamina and endurance by doing daily beginner/intermediate cardio work (with rest days as needed). Guest guest
Before I got sick I was doing two yoga sessions plus almost everyday hour strength training plus daily aerobics plus extras (Pilates, the Method etc) with 1 rest day a week. Obviously I’m not going to jump back in there at that rate but a short weight session (one body part I figure would be 10 to 30 minutes) a ½ hour to hour aerobics session and my usual yoga is a good compromise. I get tired in the middle of the day and tend to lay down and put a movie on for my 3 year old – this isn’t really great for either of us. And on many occasions I am more tired when I wake up. So that is why no nap. I used to do my extras in the middle of the day, yoga in the morning and strength followed by aerobics in the evening. And yoga right before bedtime too. It worked really well for me, and in a couple of months I will probably be doing that again (with any luckJ.
