Anytime I hear anything about losing a pet it goes right to my heart. To me, they are all little 4 legged toddlers. I had a dog for 16 years. She went through so many hard times with me growing up and as she aged her teeth got really bad, to the point where she was in pain everyday. She couldn't see anything and was just getting old. I had to make that very difficult decision to put her to sleep also and it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. I loved her so much and still miss her. Like you, I KNOW I will see her again someday. I thought of her the other day and I can see my sister playing with her in heaven. I'm sure you are doing the right thing.
