Congratulations Darcy! Glad you were able to get some help there. Like I said, they aren't as in depth as the ACE, but they do give you a good base of knowledge to build on. So did you do the Master Trainer package where you do both the primary and advanced personal trainer and the group ex and nutrition certifications? Or are you just doing one at a time?

Thanks Tonya :)Yes, I bought the package where it is the Master Trainer package and then I also bought the weight training one too but that's on back-order and I still haven't gotten it yet The nutrition one scares me cuz all it is is a regular book. It's not their own book like the rest of them, and there is no DVD. I'm going to wait until last to do that one. Next, I'm going to tackle the advanced personal trainer one.

Who else are you certified through Tonya? If AFAA gets a class near me, I may tackle that one in the future as well. For now, I am just sticking with this though.Darcy

Yeah, the nutrition one was the toughest one of theirs I've taken too. I much prefer the ones with the dvd. But, I did go through my book and highlight the stuff on the test, if you need some help on where to study.

Let's see, I was originally certified by Aerobic Pipeline International in both Personal Training and Aerobics. Then they went out of business and I recertified through the International Fitness Association in Aerobics, Kickboxing, and Personal Training. I also certified in Personal Training through Scirion Institute of Exercise Physiology because I had to have their certification in order to be a Personal Trainer Instructor/Proctor for them and teach their certification classes. I've got the Master Trainer in Yoga and Pilates, including the Group X and Nutrition, as well as the Primary Aqua and Yoga Ball certifications from FiTour. I'm also AquaLogix certified by NESTA. And I've taken a bunch of CEC's from Exercise Etc. in various modalities. Oh, and my Fitness Professional certificate from PCDI. And now I'm studying for ACE's Personal Trainer certification. I have a thing for taking certification courses, can you tell? LOL

AFPA is coming to Charlotte in either September or October. (I think it is October with the registration deadline in September.) Maybe we can get everyone to come down and we can all do a certification/conference together?!
