CB was spitting like mad for awhile...we tried "blow bubbles " (making the air come out instead of spit) gum, you name it.....didnt work.Guess what did ?! When he would spit (at home ) we simply and abruptly walked away from him. At first we said "OH ! YUCK YOUR SPITTING, THATS GROSS !. He thought that was funny...

Will get you the name of the book (social skills ) of the book that cured him of kicking, right now it alludes me LOL.

Well, that is interesting about the Strattera. Maybe that is what caused Karac to have a meltdown Sunday. I have been telling his mother that I felt like the Straterra was causing probems. Thanks for the info. Pat K

I'm sure the rest of the week will be better. Karac's behavior was such a problem Sunday that I thought everything I have done for him has been in vain, but today he has been wonderful. It is a rollercoaster life!! Pat K

Check the concerta. We had behavior problems with . We had her on risperdal and strattera. She was on depakote too which was causing major behavior problems plus I found out that risperdal can cause seizures. We weaned her off of risperdal and depakote. Things improved but we still had problems.A lady who took strattera said she was having trouble with rage while on it. We removed that and right now is med free-prescription ones. We give her melatonin at night and we see better behavior when we give her that than when we don't. I guess that has something to do with sleep.Anyway, I know that strattera and concerta are used for the same thing but am not sure if they are in the same family or not.

Sometimes these behavioral problems that we have with Collin (age 6.6 and HFA) seem to never end. We just started him on a new medication (Concerta 18mg) because the short acting (Ritalin) was not working for him. He is currently on Risperdal, Prozac and now Concerta.! Messenger

The Name of the book was called NO Biting, I got it at Target....very simple and straight forward. I put it in his backpack for the ride on the bus to school. Worked real well, as CB has a memory that wont quit. Read it to him once and he was able to read it for himself afterwards.
