Welcome back Carolyn!! And good for you for working out right away! I probably would have taken a couple days of vacation for whatever lame excuse before starting again..LOL..Darcy

hi everyone!

finally, im back to working out !! i have only one very short work

day left and then my contract job with the gov't is complete... yay!

i will have 2 weeks left to myself before the kids are out of

school for the summer, and im quite thankful to have the time to get

back into my normal routine of working out each day and eating alot

better.

so this morning i did two episodes of 'body in motion' with gilad.

these are not hard workouts, but are really great to get back into

the swing of things. gilad's workouts have absolutely no dread

factor for me... i enjoy them very much and they are so very do-able.

i enjoyed using my rebounder for some of gilad's aerobics (no high

impact, but he likes to bounce around a bit) and i also liked doing

his body-weight-only strength segments. i do believe that i will do

a gilad theme week!! tomorrow will call for a couple more episodes

of BIM, then i will use gilad's 'quick fit' workout kit for a few

days, then do some episodes of his 'total body sculpt' tv show, then

i think i will also do his 'arms/legs of steel' workouts later on in

the week. gilad is almost ready to release his new workouts on dvd

which are supposed to be similar to his hour-long TBS shows. i cant

wait to read some reviews on them and possibly buy them.

this evening i did 'breakthru pilates plus' with michelle dozois and

tracy york. this workout has 4 sections... a warmup, pilates,

ballet and yoga. i quite enjoyed this workout.... really great for

me to do in the evening as a bonus workout! im not sure that i did

so well on the ballet exercises, but i gave them a good try anyway.

i didnt find the workout to be too hard... just right, really. so

it was quite enjoyable for me to do tonight.

will post again tomorrow on the workouts that i do! it feels soooo

good to be back!

hi darcy!

well, actually.... i did have to spend a few days catching up on the

housework and on sleep! from working this contract job, i have seen

that i am expected to do *everything* that i was doing as a SAHM on

top of working a paying job. the govt job was quite active so i

felt run ragged all day and night! it doesnt make me want to get

another job any time soon...LOL. ah well, the kids are out of

school in 2 weeks and i will then start *that* full-time job so i

wont have to worry about getting another job again until september.

also, great big congrats on obtaining your first personal training

client! WOW! i am so proud of you and am dying to hear more about

your experiences.

Hi Carolyn,

Good to have you back!! I love Gilad too. I also can't wait to see what his new workouts are like. I really hope they are at least intermediate because I will probably try them. I don't have Fit TV so I don't have any idea what his shows are like.

I have the & Pilates too and really like it, but I skip the ballet part, I just can't get into it.

It's hard to believe the kids are getting out for summer. Before we know it, it will be time for school to start back up. I have one just starting school in a little over a year and I DO NOT look forward to it. I was so glad when my oldest graduated. It seemed like all the school wanted was money all the time. She was always coming home with some kind of paper wanting money, use to just tick me off so bad... now I start all over.

Have a nice Sunday!

yep about every week or so. now i don't mind b/c the funds help the

school but we are talking sums of $20-$50 everytime they asked. i

spend nearly $75 on ONE field trip(b/c i went with viola) and in the

same week they were sending me something about MORE pictures. taking

pictures TWICE in one year WHAT!!!!. forget that i went to k=mart and

got the family portrait and a small package for $12 whereas the

smallest package at the school wanted $35. i did take thme up on their

offer to buy a pre-made school supply package though. $22 got me all

the supplies the 1-grade requests for the school year, so thats one

less thing to worry about. now if they need a volunterr for recess and

playtime activities i just might be your gal, just don't ask me for

anymore money LOL. only ONE person works in this household right now.

The schools here always have something they want sold (once they are in

the mid-elementary level) We have tons of kids come by and want to sell

something to us. The money drain here is aftershool activities. They

don't do art or music in schools so if you want your child to

participate they do that afterschool and there is swim lessons (all

children have to take swim lessons) And once you sign them up there is

clothing and if they have a special event there is extra costs for that

plus you often have to pay to watch the event as well. For school we

just have the twice yearly fee and pictures. My 6 year old daughter is

preparing right now to go on stage and dance in her first recital. She

is very excited and we are headed out the door to watch her in about 10

minutes. They have two shows and are gone today from 1pm to 9:45pm (the

younger children can go home at 8) Anyway it is all a big excitement for

her. ANd I can't wait to see her dance.

hi michelle! well, his TBS workouts on fit-tv are for

intermediates and above. some are 1/2 hour, some are 1 hour long.

and are nice sculpting programs... light weight/higher rep stuff and

quite a few compounded exercises. he always includes abs and

stretching in these workouts too. while i enjoy the 30 min 'total

body sculpt' shows, i was really happy to see gilad get an hour long

time slot on fit-tv. im really looking forward to trying those

longer programs this week to see what they are like.

hey, i hear ya! the school here is always wanting money too :/

with 2 kids in the same school, it gets kind of expensive. but the

thing that really gets me is the homework that our 1st grader has to

do at night.... i feel like im the one who should have the teaching

degree instead of the teacher :/ :/

> Have a nice Sunday!

thanks! its fathers day so we took dh out to see a movie (CARS,

which was excellent and worth the $40 it cost us) and then we went

out to a restaurant for dinner. it was a good day, although i still

have a ton of work to do tonight, including doing a workout! ugh!

and treasure hunters starts tonight and is on for 2 hours.....

i just heard from my SIL that her kids' school is doing pics twice a

year too! ugh! im pretty sure that she just picks one session and

doesnt buy photos from both. what ticked me off last week was the

baseball league decided to sell photos of the players and teams.

they wanted $10 for a photo of shane's so-called 'baseball team'

(they dont actually play games at his age... just practice drills and

play games) and he doesnt even know the other 4-5 year olds in his

little group. i thought it was pretty silly to sell that, for that

price. the cheapest thing that i could get was a $4 photo of shane

by himself, holding a bat. nevermind that i already have tons of

photos just like that on my own digital camera. ::sigh:: they

havent offered to take photos of luke and his team yet... if they do

, i will have to break down and get the $10 pic of his team for him.

oh, now i like that idea and might possibly buy that if our school

could ever come up with an idea like that...LOL

oh, and i was also peeved when they had this 'fun fair' thingy at the

school and asked me for donations... i made multiple donations... one

for each kid and another on behalf of my husband's business... then

attended the fair and dropped a bunch of dough there for the kids to

play games, enter prize draws, etc. that was fine, but i was mad

when they called me up THREE times to bug me about volunteering at

the event. i stood by my guns and said NO each time, thank goodness.

besides, if i had to work at the event, then who the heck was going

to take my own kids to the thing! duh!!!
