Guest guest
I hope Evan can get in that school, and that it will be helpful. Karac had a good week at school for which I am very thankful. today he has equest and Special Olympics basketball. I'll pick him up at 9:00 to take him to all his activities. I look forward to that. It is going to be a sunny day today in Dallas. Blessings, Pat K

Guest guest
Hey Betty: That is a lot of money to run the appliance. I have to go to the laundromat and could not go this past week since was home sick for two days. We took a taxi to the post office to mail the items I sold on ebay and pick up some antibiotics. Luckily when his brother saw the Pediatrician last December she gave me an Rx for just in case so Rite Aid took it. I read in news that the grocery strike might soon be over. Today is the Hollywood rally for IHSS and I hope it gets good news coverage and that our Union is more disciplined than the grocery store workers! I took my kids bowling once last year, we have a college student volunteer come once a week for two hours through a Jewish organization and she went with us. It was all senior citizens that Sunday morning and ran up and down the lanes. liked it and had done it once before at a summer autism day camp. I was thinking special olympics for , he turns nine next month, but with no car and to take along not sure this would work. I still hope to get them to Sea World some day. What is the S.O.? For the first time in years I bought a used dryer and used it 2-4 times a day in January and part of December. When my bill increased over $200 I nearly croaked. I am not sure but I think it would have been cheaper to have dried those clothes downtown. I think it might be cheaper to put Evan in pull-ups than that. Now i am back to using my wooden clothes rack for some of the laundry and using the dryer only when I cannot wait any longer. I wish that Evan was able to do things with special olympics but last time I checked he was not the right age for even their bowling league. Maybe I should try again. They keep asking for money from me for the S.O. so it would be nice if they would have something Evan could do.
Guest guest
Special Olympics starts at either age 9 or 10, I think 9. You might want to check out Boy Scouts too, they can be quite accommodating depending on the troop. Some places are adding special needs troops to accommodate more severely affected people too, who would have trouble doing some activities to make it easier. My son did Tiger Cubs, did the Pinewood Derby race and won a trophy:) He is in a special needs troop, and we went to a firehouse and the people were WONDERFUL. The kids got to hold a firehose(with the firemens help)and run under water spraying, etc. and toured the firehouse...it was so fun. Just a thought.. You could also try 4-H if interested, you don't have to live on a farm, you can have a bicycle project, etc....just some thoughts. Guest guest
Wow, $200 increase in your bill is a lot! Did you get an electric or gas dryer? But I am sure with those three boys that you do have a lot of wash! Two loads a day is three times as much as I have. I don't understand why Evan has been too young for Special Olympics. Karac has been participating in swimming, basketball, and equest Special Olympics for three years. Equest and basketball on the same day yesterday was almost too much for Karac. We had to leave basketball before the awards because Karac was on the verge of a meltdown! They were as organized as they usually are and there was too much waiting for Karac, and you might know the battery went dead in his tape player! oh,well, no big deal. Guest guest
Well, Pat, Evan might not be too old now but I have not heard much about them doing any Special Olympics around here lately. Just phone calls asking me to donate to another good cause. I do donate to several 'good' causes and keep trying to explain that to the many more who keep calling. I got a used gas dryer from a friend of /Evan's dad. They said that they got a new one because it was cheaper than changing everything over when they moved. I am beginning to wonder if there was not another reason. I really need to make a note for Mark to check it out. He said something about seeing if it was set right and then forgot. I really believe something is wrong with it. I am thinking about getting a new one from Costco next winter but not now since Spring is coming right around the corner here. Guest guest
Maybe something is wrong with your dryer. Gas dryers are suppose to be more economical to operate than the electric ones. We found out about the Special Olympics through Karac's school district. That seems to be the way they operate, at least in the Dallas Metropolitan area. Guest guest
's dad finally got around to checking out the dryer last night and he thinks he has fixed it. He thinks that it was on all the time before but that he has adjusted the flame so that it will be working right. I can get him to do some things for us if I just keep reminding him before his buddies get their calls in. Tod;ay was a beautiful day for drying outside but I was gone most of the day so I still ended up using the dryer to finish drying them. I am getting a little antsy since there is talk about them eliminating paying family members through the In Home Service program. It figures. After several years of taking care of Evan, I finally start getting paid to do it and now our new governor thinks it should be done by someone outside the home. Well, if they take away that and 's SSI, I guess we will qualify for those low income programs we don't qualify for any more.
