Guest guest
Sally, what does "MRDD" stand for? I will take someone with me from our Challenged Families support. That is their job. I do not think that Evan's principal could come with me on this. I am making a list of people to start calling tomorrow and one of the first is Protection and Advocacy is one of them. I would like to know, just where it became part of the Regional Centers program to start threatening parents/caregivers into sending their child to a group home before the family felt it was necessary. Of course, if someone had a camera on Evan jumping the front fence today, at its weak link, then maybe they would have a case. I did manage to grab him just before he got out of reach and hang on to his shirt, while I was hollering for Bob to come and help. Thankfully the neighbor girl came and helped with him. While we were trying to convince him that getting back into his own yard was the thing to do, I was wondering how that nurse would play this scene for others. Guest guest
Betty, Your local Area Board is responsible for ensuring that your regional center is doing its job. If you have continuing trouble with your regional center, you may want to get your Area Board involved. Heidi Re: feeling betrayed by the Regional Center/Sally Sally, what does "MRDD" stand for? Guest guest
Hi, maybe you call it something else(is that your regional center?)Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities is what my local one is called(Morrow County Board of....:)in Ohio. It is the conduit for money, service and support administration, help with waivers, etc...it is so sad they have no idea of what autism is like. Most people have had at least one close call with their child because they often lack the fear of danger, and the most diligent parents on earth cannot be awake every second of every day...hang in there! Guest guest
Yes, it does sound as if they are the same thing or at least similar. Our local Regional Center is Central California Regional Center and includes several counties.
