Guest guest
, You just described my beagle! Eats anything she can and tears the place up. She also jumps the fence and chases any creature that runs around out behind the house. It's the hunting dog in her I think. Any way, I don't think it is just the Basset, it's any hyper dog! And if it doesn't, at least my pooch is happy. Hi , My daughter has a Basset Hound named Winston. Your basset sounds pretty normal, but Winston is horrible. He eats anything.. He knocks things off the counters and eat them and has even ate a plate once. My daughter can't leave anything even close to him or he will try to eat it. He climbed up on his hind legs the other day and ate her turtle food for her turtles then chewed on her lotion bottle and ate some of the lotion, lol I am not kidding. She had a big bag of bagels up on the counter which she said she thought was far enough back so he couldn't get up there and he managed somehow and ate the entire bag of bagels!!! He knocks things over and his drool is unforgettable lol He is cute as a button, that's about it lol Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to down Bassets because he has to be the only one of his kind! Guest guest
Don't count on it. opened a latched wooden box we keep chocolates in and ate them all. Wrappings, too. He takes stuff off the counter if he thinks it smells good. I once turned my back ever so briefly and he ate my supper, climbed up on the table and just took it.
