Guest guest
Carolyn, You sound like you've been doing great. Speaking of oranges, I've never really been a big fan of them, but DH wanted some Sunkis seedless oranges and I decided to try one and I loved it. I've been eating more then he has lol I don't think they have many calories. I've been in the habit of having a fruit with lunch. I usually have an apple, pear (love those) and lately one of those oranges. I cut either apples pr pears on my cutting board and leave them there while I do stuff around the house and stop and take bites lol The only problem with doing that is I want something else after I eat that lol ~~

DUHH do you like grapefruit? i think that today i might get a few ruby reds today and see if i like them. Yes, I like grapefruits, but I have to put sugar on them because I can't stand the sourness. I use to cut one in half and sprinkle sugar on it and put it in the fridge and have it for breakfast the next morning with a piece of toast. I have to really be in the mood for one though. I've been eating more then he has lol I don't think they have many > calories. i would have to look up the cal count on oranges, but basically i dont count any fruits or vegetables in my daily calorie count. i figure that i need to eat a bunch of them, and if i knew that an orange is worth, say, 100 cals (or whatever, i dont really know) then i would opt for a 1 calorie diet pepsi instead! LOL. so fruits and veggies are 'free' foods for me. i was dreaming the other day about being in florida or california and walking out on the deck, reaching out and picking an orange off of a tree and eating it. oh, that would be so wonderful! i can do that here (in the fall) with apples and pears but i like oranges a whole lot more. i like the seedless naval oranges that you got, but i love the little clementine ones or the cross-breeds like the mineola (a cross between a grapefruit and a tangerine, i think). do you like grapefruit? i think that today i might get a few ruby reds today and see if i like them. > I cut > either apples pr pears on my cutting board and leave them there while I > do stuff around the house and stop and take bites lol that is a good idea on how to get your fruit eaten up. i do the same thing with water... always have a cup sitting on the kitchen counter so when i run past, i take a gulp. >The only problem > with doing that is I want something else after I eat that lol oh, so you mean that the sweetness of the fruit sparks your appetite for other stuff? maybe if you cut up your apples, pears and oranges into a bulky fruit salad, then it will really fill you up? maybe add a few nuts to the salad for protein? :*carolyn. Guest guest
i could be wrong but i read in several resources that sugar from fruits(as in whole fruits not the juice) react differently then say table sugar, sugar found in most other processed foods etc etc. its hard to overeat on these foods those can you imagine eating 4 oranges(about 2 glasses of o.j.)i could maybe 1-1 1/2 of a medium orange.i love bananas, they are filling relativly cheap, but many say they have to many carbs.well i need good carbs so what better source LOL. i used to eat alot of apples but i have had my fill of those latetly LOL. kassiafitgrl222@... wrote: That is a great idea, didn't think of that one. I have to really be in the mood for one though. i did buy a couple this morning at the grocery store. i do like sour stuff though, so hopefully i will like these ok. i can put splenda on them i suppose. do i just peel grapefruit like i do an orange? if i just cut it in half, do i need a special spoon to get the fruit out of the peel? or maybe i can just use a knife? LOL! yes, im clueless! :*carolyn.

Guest guest
The sugar in fruit is natural rather than refined and is not bad for you. If grapefruit is too sour, try putting coconut on it instead of sugar. It's really good that way! Re: re: no-junk challenge days 2-5 In a message dated 3/6/2006 9:11:17 A.M.
