drawn to reply to you...

As for the Sandarac I don't believe that this

would be the " gold " you are looking for with

respect to the Magi. The word sandarac is derived

from the Persian sandarus, which means red in color.

However, when sandarac is fresh and young it is gold,

but as it ages it becomes more reddish in hue.

I believe, and this is only my personal opinion, that

the gold gift may have been gold amber resin. This

amber resin would have been a more valuable substance too.

The only source I know of that carries gum sandarac is

here: www.priyamultinational.com and perhaps they may

know of a distributor or retailer in your area...
