I wonder if he will give it to his gf? weellll, my dh does not fall into the 'sweet' category... he is one of those 'tough' guys, ya know? has a construction business, slings concrete around all day... likes pickup trucks, motorcycles, beer and heavy metal rock music...lol. i was used to a different type of guy and when i met him and used to expect him to buy me gifts and take me out for dinners and stuff like that. but he is just not like that. so i got used to not receiving things like flowers and cards. but once in a while he will surprise me with a little something which is really nice and special. i doubt that he will ever get me flowers though.... he wanted to get his mom flowers a few years ago for mothers day and he made me come with him to buy them. it just doesnt go with his 'tough guy' persona to be seen walking around town with a bouquet! LOL and, yes, my son gave the chocolate rose to his g/f.... he said that she chowed down on it during recess im sure that she was thrilled.... she has a big crush on him and is always giving him things. for example, they made a beautiful valentine craft at school on monday and while most kids take these home and give them to their moms or grandmas, she gave hers to my son! LOL. he is a bit overwhelmed with all of her attention, and im not so sure that he 'loves' her as much as she does him, but he still makes an effort to make her happy and to be her friend. :*carolyn. Guest guest
You know Carolyn, I think we women over romanticize Valentine's Day anyway (all those stupid advertisers don't help either). If you have a man who loves you the way you are, doesn't mess around on you, provides for the family, and it is there when you need him, you have a lot. My man ticks me off plenty at times (and I am sure that the feeling is mutual because I have a very strong personality), but boy, he has been my rock for 23 years and I really appreciate it. He is actually a lot more romantic than I am! He is always home with me at night and he still calls me his "Pookie". I will take that any day over "stuff" purchased for a holiday. That said, I am really glad your DH thought of you this holiday because you certainly deserve it! Kathy Re: OT: V-Day fitgrl222@... wrote:> *That is sweet Carolyn! Your DH must be a sweetie! Guest guest
Yep - the stuff is great, but the devotion is better. Kathy Re: OT: V-Day In a message dated 2/15/2006 8:32:11 P.M.
