Guest guest
I understand the draw to drink wheat grass juice with so many touting its benefits, but humans do not and are not made to eat grass. Grass, and some say grains, are considered starvation foods. In other words, if there is absolutely nothing else to eat.. that is what you eat. Otherwise, you get lot of good benefits from sprouts which are essentially baby plants with all their food nutrition concentrated. Although I personally have reservations about sprouting grains and beans.. but that is just me mostly. ________________________________ From: Kornblau <bacteriapimp@...> Sent: Friday, February 20, 2009 8:57:30 PM Subject: Re: Wheat grass juice http://www.wisegeek .com/what- are-the-health- benefits- of-wheat- grass.htm From: misslavande <misslavande> Subject: Wheat grass juice Date: Friday, February 20, 2009, 8:49 PM Hello everyone I was away and missed you gang It is good to hear from you again cannot read the thousand or so messages since early Jan. Guest guest
It is hard to say what would be the proper diet for humans at this time of their evolution... For hundreds of thousand of years we ate insects, grubs and lots of animal organs and we are them raw. I don't know if that means that is our healthiest source of food... most likey moderation is best... not too many grubs From: misslavande <misslavande> Subject: Wheat grass juice Date: Friday, February 20, 2009, 8:49 PM Hello everyone I was away and missed you gang It is good to hear from you again cannot read the thousand or so messages since early Jan. Guest guest
Here is an explanation of why cows can eat grass.. pretty much explains why humans can't really get anything from grass when you read how much processing cows have to do do the grass. http://extension.usu.edu/AITC/teachers/pdf/microorg/activities/stomach.pdf I certainly wouldn't stop anyone from eating grass in whatever form they want.. I just don't see the point. ________________________________ From: Kornblau <bacteriapimp@...> Sent: Saturday, February 21, 2009 8:47:31 AM Subject: Re: Wheat grass juice It is hard to say what would be the proper diet for humans at this time of their evolution... Guest guest
Kombucha is cheaper... It is a diuretic than cleansed the kidneys... it is an adaptogen that is good for what ails ya...It is a weak acid that creates a more alkaline condition in you digestive system... it is a miracle food... it can't really be distributed or cashed in on by the corporations so like milk kefir it is almost a secret... It has so many healing properties .....you can make it for the price of tea and sugar.. most of the sugar... about 85 percent, is digest by the kombucha culture and changed into vitamins and healthy acids.. The cost of the kombucha culture is less than 15 dollars delivered to your door via the USPS... you need no machine.. it has an adult taste.. a little vinegry... it can be made to taste very good.. it can be bottled and aged.. it can be bought at whole foods but you can make it yourself for pennies after the initial acquiring of the culture ... the culture reproduces and you can keep it going forever... wheat grass is also good buy I don't like paying so much for it.. but I do like it mixed with apple juice and lime....mmmm for more information about kombucha or kefir you can contact me.... or visit my website at http://bacteriapimp.com ... I don't know what the rules are here about giving out ones website... but I like to think that my website is a subversive place that give people ideas to go into their selves... if that is proper english... anyway wheat grass is good so is kombucha and kefir but they are not so expensive... if I had the bucks I'd have someone make me all three.... From: misslavande <misslavande@...> Subject: Wheat grass juice Date: Saturday, February 21, 2009, 7:46 PM thank you all for your help Hi E. W. Yes, Jack likes the juicer and I like Jack! Boy, when I saw that glass of juice on TV, I jumped out of my chair it was like: Give me this , right now. so he made it easy for less than $100.00 I am happy with the juices, only one little problem I realize when I juice how wasteful this really is. I have to buy pounds and pounds of fruits , most of which is trashed away. it does not make sense. We used to make cookies with the fiber but the veggie part is not so good, and no time anymore and too much fiber to use it all but I get the juice of lemons, cucumber, oranges, apples, celery, carrots all together for breakfast can add psyllium, for the fiber , right? and here my life is complete .... and absurd in a way. I was told to drink wheat grass, to clean the liver, maybe that is when a juicer is really helpful, to be able to absorb nutrients you could not digest in its entire form. I am not sure about buying yet another juicer, it is getting crowded on the kitchen counter, no kidding! today starting alfalfa sprouts, will see.. I sprout lots of beans, from all sorts of lentils to adzuki, eat them raw and whole , roots and all in the salad. There is a sweetness to it and I get no protestation from my husband, so it is a go. But I am happy to learn otherwise, the ultimate purpose being to reach for better health Miss Lavande
