Guest guest
Well, will wonders never cease! I went to bed at 7:30 pm and got up at 4:30 am to go to the gym for Cycling, but my workout partner had a migraine and didn't sleep last night so I decided to do Yoga for Weight Loss this morning. I've reviewed this one before, but I'll recap again because I really like this one. Suzanne Deason normally isn't a favorite instructor of mine simply because she lacks warmth. Nonetheless, this is a super video to do in the morning. The music is gentle piano notes, and the setting is somewhere in the desert with big monoliths/rocky structures, like Bryce Canyon in Utah or something. Suzanne is accompanied by 3 other exercisers demonstrating various intensity options. The first section focuses on waking up the body gently with some seated spinal twists, cat and cow, and hanging in rag doll coming up into chair. This is normally easy to do later in the day when the bod has been moving about all day long but first thing in the morning my body is fairly rickety and even ragdoll can be challenging! During the second section there is some strength and more stretching with Warrior 1, Warrior 2, side angle stretch, and triangle pose. There was a pyramid stretch and also there was also another spinal twist while in wide leg stretch. The third section is called Balance and Relaxation. I didn't see where the balance came in, as this was mostly seated lower back, abdominal, and spinal stretch work, then shivasana. All in all, a great beginner to lower intermediate workout and a great workout to do first thing in the morning!
